Welcome and thank you for choosing Terrific Nannies to help you decide on such a delicate and important matter pertaining to the well being of your family. There are a few reminders which we would like to pass on to you. When hiring a local or overseas caregiver this is not considered a sponsorship, it is an offering of full-time employment which will be created between the caregiver and yourself (Terrific Nannies has no involvement in this whatsoever). When hiring a local caregiver, it is important to know that they cannot work in your home unless they have a valid work permit stating "you" as the employer. It is illegal for any employer to offer to pay a caregiver cash.
If you hire an overseas caregiver they will receive an OHIP card after 3 months of being in Canada, should you like to purchase additional medical coverage we can refer you to an advisor who will be more than happy to help. It is also your responsibility to register with the WSIB when your caregiver arrives.
If at anytime you are not contented with the caregiver's services you may end the employment. We do recommend that you read and understand the employment standards act and laws. Thank you for choosing us once again and we look forward to a long lasting relationship on all levels. Best Regards,
